What is Integral?
The Integral approach is the first truly comprehensive perspective and way of thinking that can lead towards a better world. Spearheaded by Ken Wilber as a unification of Eastern and Western approaches to consciousness, the Integral approach offers a multi-dimensional philosophy as well as a set of tools with broad applications.
It forms both an academic structure for analysis and a framework for vital personal practices. It is emerging as one of the most powerful ways to accomplish qualitative and sustainable changes, whether on an individual, organizational, or global basis.
The profoundly serious situations that we find ourselves in today require a new set of structures of consciousness through which we perceive our reality. There are countless human perceptions and values in our ever-shrinking global environment by which to perceive these unprecedented challenges, but thus far we have experienced destruction and conflict from, and clashes among, these existing perspectives.
These challenges and clashes threaten our emotional, economic, spiritual and physical lives. In light of these serious 21st Century challenges that threaten everyone and everything, we are fortunate to have the Integral approach as a meta-framework of these values and perspectives. The Integral approach permits us to transcend while including everybody's truth, and to feel compassionate with it. The transcendent aspect of the approach comes from leading edge scientific findings which have revealed the boundless transformative potential of human consciousness and resulting decision-making.
Integral theory can be applied to any and all domains of human knowledge, and includes a coherent synthesis of perspectives, styles, and methodologies.
